Certified Welder.

Overview:
Certified welders are responsible for performing a wide variety of welding projects to maintain and enhance the quality and performance efficiency of pipe for the oilfield industry. Applicants must be able to pass E&M certification test.  This position reports to the Weld Shop Foreman.
 
Duties:

• Lays out, positions, weld mapping, and assembles according to specifications using a wide range of tools
• Maintain constant communication with weld shop foreman, mechanic and/or regional manager to assure that all projects are performed in a timely manner and meet the specifications of the customer standards
• Continuously enhances knowledge of tool and procedures for optimum quality
• Install or repairs equipment, such as pipes, valves, and other items needed based on specifications
• Observes any testing on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance to evaluate quality of project before completion
• Contributes to the team efforts as specified by weld shop foreman, mechanic, and/or regional manager

 
Qualifications:
 
Required:

• 2-3 years fabrication welding experience
• AWS certification

 
Preferred:

• 5+ years fabrication welding experience
• Oilfield welding experience
• Battery construction experience

 
 
Physical Requirements:
 

• Ability to lift 20-25 lbs
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold
• Ability to work long hours (weekends when necessary)
• Ability to travel region throughout day
• Ability to work in hazardous conditions
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel frequently throughout day
• Ability to work in trenches and at high heights
• Ability to work around equipment
• Ability to continuously lift and bend to perform various services
