Director of Safety.

Description:
As Director of Safety, you will apply your innovative and collaborative thinking in providing strategic and day-to-day direction, leadership oversight, feedback and development to staff on key safety initiatives. Using sound technical judgment, you’ll perform and lead others in the identification, assessment, analysis and solving of a broad spectrum of Safety challenges within the organization.
 
Responsibilities:

• Oversee safety department and DOT personnel to ensure the safety of E&M team members and compliance of all DOT regulations while
• Assist department managers with implementing and enforcing all safety regulations and codes; participate in management meetings
• Plan, implement, and coordinate fire prevention and occupational safety and health programs to suffice any OSHA or DOT requirements
• Assess field accidents
• Coordinate all Safety Committee related items, including the “Yellow Card” Safety program
• Develop and recommend new safety procedures and review safety programs; measure and evaluate effectiveness of safety program
• Focus on safety and loss prevention based on reports of incidents, accidents, and other data gathered based on the situation presented
• Distribute pertinent information to department managers and others regarding toxic substances, hazards, carcinogens, and other safety related data
• Promote a Drug-Free Workplace
• Conduct new hire safety orientations
• Plan, coordinate, and conduct company quarterly safety meetings
• Prepare and disseminate memos and reports for all departments of E&M Services, LLC
• Maintain required safety documents
• Conduct reasonable suspicion interviews
• Administer worker compensation program and first report of injuries
• Manage contractor management websites (ISNetworld, PEC, TPS, etc.)

Qualifications:
Required:

• BS or BA degree in Occupational Safety or Safety Engineering or MBA preferred
• 5+ years of safety experience or 10+ years of experience in oil and gas industry
• Leadership experience in each of the fields of Safety, Security and Risk Management
• Proven track record of team leadership in striving for excellence around incident reduction results achieved through the development and implementation of targeted safety strategies and tactics
• Strong communication and presentation skills -Experience in training delivery
• Knowledge of industrial safety-related discipline and operating regulations
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple initiatives
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred:

• PEC certification
• First aid/CPR certification
• OSHA 10/30 certification
• Trained to conduct reasonable suspicion testing
• CSP certification
• North Dakota Safety Council Advanced Safety Certification
